City Council District 3

Dave Neumann is running for reelection in District 3. He is currently serving his first term.

Dallas NAACP president Casey Thomas has said he will challenge Neumann. Former District 3 Council member Ed Oakley and 2007 candidate Joseph Hernandez have both decided against a run against Neumann.

City Council District 2

Pauline Medrano is running for reelection in District 2. She is currently serving her second term.

Salesman Billy MacLeod, who ran for the seat in 2003, indicated in May 2008 that he was planning to challenge Medrano. However, in June 2008, MacLeod apparently decided against such a race after a meeting with Mayor Tom Leppert. No one else has hinted at a run as of now.

2009 is approaching!

I thought Dallas needs a blog following the 2009 municipal elections, so I decided to make one myself. I will update it whenever something new and interesting pops up, and profile every race effecting Dallas residents. Help is always welcome!

A little about me: My name is David de la Fuente. I am 19 year old first year at Southern Methodist University, and have lived in Dallas all my life and I vote in City Council District 3.

I hope that this blog will be helpful to Dallas voters curious about their races as well as out of city people curious about Dallas politics.
