Linda Koop is running for reelection in District 9. She is currently serving her second term.

No one has announced a run against Koop.

City Council District 8

Tennell Atkins is running for reelection in District 8. He is currently serving his first term.

Dallas Housing Finance Corporation Board member LeVar Thomas has announced he will challenge Atkins. Thomas is former council member Al Libscomb's grandson.

City Council District 7

Carolyn Davis is running for reelection in District 7. She is currently serving her first term.

Bus driver Gary Springer is the only person who has filed to face Davis so far.

City Council District 6

Steve Salazar is running for reelection in District 6. He is currently serving his third consecutive term, and served two terms previously.

Salazar has no announced challenges as of now.

City Council District 5

Vonciel Jones Hill is running for reelection in District 5. She is currently serving her first term.

Jones Hill has three announced opponents. Park and Recreation Board member Tiffinni Young, a Caraway appointee, has decided to make a run for the seat. 2007 candidate Betty Culbreath is gunning for a rematch. Also in the mix is 2007 and 1999 candidate Don Robinson.

City Council District 4

Dwaine Caraway is running for reelection in District 4. He is currently serving his first term.

Caraway has no announced challenges as of now.

City Council District 3

Dave Neumann is running for reelection in District 3. He is currently serving his first term.

Dallas NAACP president Casey Thomas has said he will challenge Neumann. Former District 3 Council member Ed Oakley and 2007 candidate Joseph Hernandez have both decided against a run against Neumann.
